Top 5 Halloween Recipes for Your Halloween Party

  |

Looking for something to bring to the Halloween party? We've scoured the Internet — and picked the brains of family members — for the best recipes. Use one or use them all. No matter which you choose, you're going to be the talk of the celebration! However if you prefer to let us do the work, take a look at our Halloween gift baskets available for delivery NOW!

1. Spider Web Cake

The key to this cake is the icing. Bake your favorite round cake and top with ganache and frosting. Find your favorite chocolate ganache recipe, make it and pour it over your cooled cakes. Put white frosting into a pastry bag and create a spiral on top of the ganache. Use a toothpick to draw cobwebs and add a few plastic spiders to the top. The cake is creepily fantastic!

2. Bloody Cake

This is another cake that is made by the icing. Make three round red velvet cakes. Put them together with layers of cream cheese frosting between each. Frost the top and sides with white icing. Create red ganache by mixing 12 ounces of white chocolate bark, 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and red oil-based food coloring. Once mixed, pour the ganache over the cake and let it pool. Stab your knife into the top of the cake and leave it there. (For safety, you may want to purchase a plastic knife from a Halloween party store).

3. Rice Krispie Mummies

These treats are so easy to make you're not going to believe it! Make Rice Krispies treats, let them cool, and then cut them into bars. Melt 3 cups of white chocolate chips in the microwave. Carefully dip each treat into the chocolate and place on a piece of wax paper to cool. Drizzle the remaining white chocolate over the mummy treats with a spoon or pastry bag to create the look of bandages. Pipe two dots of chocolate onto the mummies for eyes. Place your mummies in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to solidify the icing.

4. Severed Fingers

Grab a bag of pretzel rods and get ready to make a tasty treat. Melt 8 oz. of white chocolate in the microwave. Dip a pretzel rod into the chocolate, covering about half of the rod. You may want to dip the rod several times to create an uneven, finger-like look. Before you let the last layer of chocolate cool, press a pumpkin seed into the top side of the chocolate to resemble a fingernail.

5. Toxic Waste Mac-and-Cheese

We absolutely love this recipe. Hint: Its green color also makes it great for St. Patrick's Day! Because of the steps involved, we thought we would share the recipe with you instead of trying to copy it here. It's not difficult to make and, in the right container, makes a mean Halloween main dish.
